Questions
Honest answers about privacy, pricing, and how Offload actually works — nothing we haven't shipped.
← BACK TO OFFLOADWhere does my data live? Does it leave my phone?
On your phone. Offload is local-first — your documents, ID numbers, and photos are stored on your device and never sent to our servers. The only things that ever leave your phone are: purchase info (through Google Play / RevenueCat), anonymous crash reports (no document data), and any feedback you choose to send. If you turn on backup, an encrypted copy goes to your own Google Drive — nowhere else.
Is my data encrypted?
Yes. Document photos and scans are encrypted at rest on your device with AES-256. Your Google Drive backup, if you enable it, is encrypted too — it's your cloud, and only your app can read it.
Can I lock the app?
Yes. You can lock Offload with your fingerprint / face (biometric) or a PIN. It re-locks when you leave and come back.
Do you track me or show ads?
No ads, and no analytics or behavioral tracking. We use anonymous crash reporting (so we can fix bugs) with no personal data attached. Full detail is in the Privacy Policy.
How do I delete my data?
Everything is on your device, so uninstalling removes it. Inside the app you can delete any item (which also erases its scans), or wipe everything. If you used Drive backup, delete the backup from your Google Drive. There's also a data-deletion page linked from the site.
What's free?
Tracking yourself, free forever: add your documents, IDs, and licenses (one profile), scan them so Pax reads the dates, and see a live countdown to every expiry. On-device, encrypted, app-lock protected — all free. No account needed to start.
What do I get with Individual?
Everything in Free, plus reminders — Pax notifies you before anything expires, on the day you choose. Individual also unlocks your vehicles and their renewals, Places & upkeep (home/office maintenance on a cycle), and subscription tracking with your monthly spend. Add-ons cover more profiles, more vehicles, or unlimited subscriptions.
So reminders aren't free?
The countdown is free — open the app and you'll always see how many days are left. Scheduled reminders (notifications that reach you without opening the app) are the Individual feature, and the free trial gives them to you right away so you can feel the difference.
How much is Individual?
A small monthly subscription — around $3.99/month in the US, with roughly 30% off annually. The exact price shows in your currency in Google Play.
Can I try it first?
Yes — Individual starts with a free trial. You won't be charged until the trial ends, and you can cancel anytime in Google Play before then.
How do reminders work?
You pick a lead time — say 7, 14, or 30 days before a date. Pax schedules a notification for exactly that day and reminds you once. You can set a default for everything and override it per item.
How does scanning work?
Point your camera at a document — a registration, ID, license, passport. Offload reads the expiry date and key details and files them for you, so you're not typing numbers by hand. You can always add or edit anything manually too.
What can Offload track?
Anything with a date: IDs, passports, driving licenses, vehicle registrations, insurance, subscriptions, and upkeep like filters and batteries. If it expires or renews, Pax can hold it.
What are Places and upkeep?
A Place is a home or office you attach recurring maintenance to — water filters, car batteries, servicing, anything on a cycle. Mark it done and Pax resets the clock and reminds you next time. (Individual feature.)
What's the To-Do widget?
A native Android home-screen widget for small tasks that don't need a document — add, reorder, and check things off right from your launcher.
Is there an iPhone / iOS version?
Not yet. Offload is on Android today. iOS is in the works, but we haven't set a date — we'd rather ship it right than promise a day we can't keep.
Is there cloud sync across my devices?
Not yet. Offload is local-first by design. You can back up an encrypted copy to your own Google Drive today; automatic cross-device sync isn't shipped yet.
Is there a family / multi-user plan?
Not yet. Individual is the plan today (one person's documents). Household plans are planned but not yet available — we don't sell what you can't use.
How do I cancel? Can I get a refund?
Manage or cancel anytime in Google Play → Subscriptions; you keep Individual until the end of the period you've paid for. Refunds follow Google Play's refund policy — request them through Google Play, since Google handles the billing.
If I cancel, do I lose my documents?
No. Your documents stay on your phone. You keep the free countdown; you just stop getting scheduled reminders and the paid extras until you resubscribe.
Do I need an account?
No account is required to start tracking. You'd only add one for optional backup.
